“Driving Our Community Forward”
A locally owned company with 35 years of combined experience in student transportation, partnering with Missouri school districts across the greater St. Louis region to serve the students who need dependable transportation the most.
We're not a national vendor running local routes from a call center in another state. Our owner, our dispatchers, and our drivers all live right here in the communities we serve.
Every driver is fully background-checked with 5+ years of professional driving experience before joining us. Our specialty drivers serve McKinney-Vento and SPED students with patience and consistency.
Every member of our team lives in the St. Louis community we serve. Our drivers know the streets, the schools, and the families on their routes — because this region is home for them too.
When the 2024 bus crisis left St. Louis families stranded, we scaled to over 550 students monthly. When an EF3 tornado hit in May 2025, our drivers sheltered students and got every child home safe.
The STL Transportation family app puts your child’s van on a live map and tells you the moment they’re picked up and dropped off — so you’re never left guessing where the ride is. It’s free, ad-free, and built for the families we serve. Your dispatch office gives you a link code to get started.

STL Transportation was built the St. Louis way — one trip, one family, one school at a time.
Our founder started out driving a taxi in his father's cab company, learning every street of St. Louis and what it takes to earn a rider's trust.
He saw a need for safe, credible transportation for the institutions that hold our community together — especially schools, and grew the company into a dedicated student transportation provider for school districts across the greater St. Louis region.
For over a decade, STL Transportation has served Missouri school districts — averaging 130 students a day for six straight school years, adding up to more than 280,800 completed trips.
On one of the darkest days in St. Louis school history, a shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School took the lives of a teacher and a student. STL Transportation was the first transportation on scene, helping get students safely away from campus and back to their families. We will never forget that day, and we carry its weight in how seriously we take every child's safety.
When the St. Louis bus crisis left families without reliable transportation, we expanded overnight to carry more than 550 students every month.
An EF3 tornado — the strongest to hit St. Louis since 2011 — tore through the city with 152 mph winds while our drivers had students on board. They pulled off the road, sheltered the kids, kept them calm, and delivered every single child home safely.
With 40 drivers and staff, a fleet of 10 vehicles, and 35 years of combined experience, we keep doing what we've always done: getting St. Louis students to school safely, every single day.
Flexible, door-to-door transportation solutions for school districts, charter schools, and educational institutions.
Service area: the greater St. Louis region — St. Louis City, St. Louis County, surrounding Missouri districts, and parts of Illinois.
Specialized transportation for students experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, keeping students connected to their school of origin no matter where they're staying.
Dedicated, consistent drivers for students with IEPs and special needs — the same familiar face at the same time, every day.
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles operated by trained drivers, quoted based on equipment and level of service needed.
Twelve-passenger shuttle buses for group routes, activities, and programs where a full-size bus isn't the right fit.
When district bus service falls short, we scale fast — proven during the 2024 bus crisis when we absorbed 550+ students monthly.
Every vehicle carries front- and rear-facing cameras with footage digitally stored in the cloud, so administrators can review any event. AI-driven monitoring detects driving patterns to keep safety standards high, and GPS tracking ensures every child is accounted for on every trip.
Being a local company doesn't mean doing things the old way. We pair a community-driven spirit with the same safety technology the biggest national providers use:
Dual-facing cameras on every fleet vehicle, with footage digitally stored in the cloud for administrators to review in the event of any incident.
AI detection analyzes driving patterns in real time — flagging hard braking, speeding, and distraction — so we can coach drivers and prevent issues before they happen.
Live GPS tracking on every vehicle means every child is accounted for from pickup to drop-off, and districts always know where their students are.
10 newer-model vehicles owned, operated, and maintained by STL Transportation — including 3 wheelchair-accessible vehicles and 3 twelve-passenger shuttle buses — supported by a team of 40 drivers and transportation staff.
Our dispatchers graduated from St. Louis high schools. Our staff have children in the very schools we serve. When something happens in this region, it happens to us too.
When tragedy struck Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, STL Transportation was the first transportation on scene. Our drivers helped move students safely away from campus and reunite them with their families during the hardest moments imaginable. We don't share this to promote ourselves — we share it because when St. Louis students needed someone, we were already there, and we always will be.
When an EF3 tornado struck St. Louis with winds of 152 mph, STL drivers were on their routes with students in their vehicles. One driver pulled off the road and sheltered his students inside a nearby restaurant. The power was out, the kids were scared — so he offered to buy them food to calm them down, stayed with them through the storm, and got every one of them home safely to their families.
Parents talk about our service publicly in local school parent groups, and their words mean more to us than anything we could write about ourselves.
After the tornado, a parent posted publicly to thank the driver who sheltered her child and stayed with the students until every one of them was home. The post drew more than 150 reactions from other families.
Another parent shared that after a difficult week, she reached out to our office directly and was assigned a dedicated regular driver — one who confirms the pickup the night before and calls when he's on the way. She's been with the same driver ever since.
A mother publicly credited our team with personally making sure her son got home safely when it mattered most.
During the 2024 bus crisis, when families across the city were left without a way to get their children to school, STL Transportation expanded service to carry more than 550 students every month — because a St. Louis kid missing school was never an acceptable answer to us.
Across more than 280,800 trips over six years, we've had just 3 accidents — a 99.999% incident-free record. That's what happens when every driver has 5+ years of experience, is fully vetted, and treats every student like their own.
