Terms of Use

Effective September 4, 2026 · Last updated September 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of the STL Transportation and STL Transportation Driver mobile apps. By creating an account or using either app, you agree to them.

The apps are an information tool, not the transportation service itself. If something is wrong with your child's ride, call dispatch. Do not rely on the app alone in an urgent situation.

1. Who may use these apps

The parent app is for parents and legal guardians of students we transport, and only for students our dispatch office has linked to their account. The driver app is for drivers employed or contracted by STL Transportation. Both apps are for adults 18 and over. Accounts in the driver app are created by our dispatch office; there is no public sign-up.

You must give accurate information when creating an account, keep your password confidential, and tell us promptly at info@stltaxicabs.com if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

2. Your account and access to a student

Access to a student's information is granted by STL Transportation at the direction of the school district and the student's authorized guardian. We may add, change, or revoke that access at any time — including immediately and without notice — where a district instructs us to, where a custody or safety matter requires it, or where we believe access is no longer appropriate. Link codes are single-purpose and must not be shared.

3. Accuracy, and what the app cannot promise

Vehicle positions, arrival estimates, and status updates are provided as accurately as we can, but they depend on GPS coverage, cellular networks, and a driver's ability to record a status safely while operating a vehicle. Information in the app may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. The app labels how recent a vehicle's position is; please read that label rather than assuming a marker is live.

An estimated time of arrival is an estimate. Scheduled times are the commitment; estimates are not.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Drivers additionally agree not to operate the app while the vehicle is in motion.

5. Records we keep

Pickup and drop-off times recorded in the driver app are safety records. They are append-only and cannot be edited or deleted after the fact, by a driver or by a parent. Where a driver corrects a mistaken entry, the correction is recorded alongside the original with a reason, and the original entry remains. This is deliberate: the record of when a child got on and off a vehicle must be trustworthy.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it, and forms part of these terms. Student transportation records created under a district contract are education records belonging to that district, and we handle them as a service provider on the district's behalf.

7. Our intellectual property

The apps, their design, source code, the STL Transportation name and badge, and the tagline "Driving Our Community Forward" are owned by STL Transportation and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the apps for their intended purpose. Nothing here transfers any ownership to you.

8. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the apps, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change we will update the date on this page and notify account holders in the app. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Disclaimers

The apps are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, STL Transportation disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information in them will always be current.

Nothing in this section limits our obligations as a transportation provider, or any rights you have that cannot be waived under Missouri or federal law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STL Transportation is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the apps, or for any loss arising from reliance on information displayed in the apps. Our total liability relating to the apps will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).

This limitation applies to the apps. It does not limit our liability arising from the transportation service we provide, which is governed by our contracts, our insurance, and applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the apps at any time and delete your account from Settings → Delete my account or at stltaxicabs.com/delete-account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, if a district or guardian withdraws authorization, or if we discontinue the apps. Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis, Missouri, and you and STL Transportation consent to their jurisdiction.
